Module Two
Affirmations
In this module, you'll explore how life has conditioned your beliefs and learn how to use affirmations to shift them. Discover your magnificence and the invaluable contribution you make to this world simply by being all that you are.
How to complete this module:
Watch the video ‘Affirmations’.
Continue using the grounding exercise.
Use the unhelpful thoughts and challenging situations identified last week to develop your own affirmations.
Use your affirmations!
Please note there is no right or wrong way to complete this course. We do not guarantee overnight night success, rather, we aim to pass on foundational skills that will help bolster you as you move forward in life. We encourage you to make this course work for you! You may alter timeframes, tools and exercises to suit your needs. If, however, you are unsure at any stage, please feel free to send Rachel a message.
Grounding Exercise
This exercise is a guided meditation, designed to help you become more grounded and present. The meditation lasts for 15 minutes, so set aside some time in a quiet, comfortable place where you will not be disturbed. Choose a position that suits you, whether sitting or lying down and close your eyes. You may want to use a blanket to stay warm and it's recommended to use earphones for the best experience.
Feel free to use this meditation as often as you like! We suggest incorporating it into your daily routine for the remainder of this course.
Tip: You can download the meditation for offline use or on other devices.
Homework
Complete the worksheet from Module One:
Write an affirmation addressing a challenging situation (that you identified in Module One). For instance, if your job is demanding too much time and encroaching on your personal life; ‘I am open to solutions enabling me to spend more time with my loved ones.’
Take the thought you identified as a priority in Module One and write an affirmation to address it. For instance, if the thought is related to being not good enough or unworthy; ‘I am worthy of all of the good that comes to me!’
Use your affirmations daily.
It is recommended that you complete these exercises before starting Module Three.
Things to Remember…
Affirmations can be incremental. If you encounter resistance, you can start with something believable and adjust it as you move into a higher-flying state.
Affirmations are most effective when used repetitively.
Affirmations aim to counteract any past unhelpful conditioning, replacing old beliefs and thought patterns with new ones that serve you.
Use affirmations in whichever way feels the most natural to you!
